ERROR - D-Student Visa instead of Tier 4

My one-year master's program starts mid-January, 2021. I had applied for what I thought was a Tier 4 Visa with 12 months study time and 2 years work permission after that.

What I received on the 20th of November 2020 was instead a D-Student Visa which only allows me in until the 3rd week in March 2021.

Does anyone know where I messed up and how I can fix it in the next 6 weeks?

What I received on the 20th of November 2020 was instead a D-Student Visa which only allows me in until the 3rd week in March 2021.

The name of the visa changed for applications made on or after 5 October 2020.

You have your 90-day vignette. The March 2021 end date of the vignette is your deadline for travelling to the UK, not your deadline for leaving the UK.

You should probably read the information that came with the visa. It will explain that after you arrive in the UK, you will collect a Biometric Residence Permit for the full length of your leave.

Oh my god, it was lost between my other documents. Thanks so much, this is suuuuch a relief. Got to figure out how to sort that with the bank, but that is a battle for another day.
