Visit visa for Pakistani wife of British citizen

Post by okhajut » Mon Nov 23, 2020 9:19 am

I am a British citizen, my wife is Pakistani. We want to visit our wife's sister in Ireland for few days. I want to know these things:
1. Do I being British citizen need visa to visit Ireland? If so what are the requirements for it?
2. What documents does my wife need to apply for her visa and what impact does me being British citizen have on this?
3. What is the specific visa category to apply for each of us and how long does does the application process take?

Hello

As a British, you can visit nearly the entire planet without visa. You don't need a visa for Ireland.

Your wife needs a visa. Try to get her sister to send her an invitation.

Short-visit visas are suspended since March. We can't see that it will be resumed any time soon.

If you have zero knowledge about the visa process, you should read the INIS website. It's much better to get a full picture there, which will tell you all the types of visas and documents required, rather than asking broad questions here.
