Travelling after ceremony but before receiving the passport

Post by idonatetowikipedia » Mon Nov 23, 2020 11:39 pm

Hi,

I recently received an invitation to attend the ceremony but the local council can only offer a place in Jan/Feb. Is it possible to travel and return to the UK after attending the ceremony but before receiving the passport? (as it can take up to (?) 6 weeks) I know it's a problem for people with BRPs (as you have to return these) but I'm on EUSS and don't have any physical cards to return.

Slightly related: when applying for the passport, can I submit my current passport for validation (which I always used for UK entry) and keep my EU identity card, or do I need to submit both?

Understand it's a rather privileged "problem" to have but I was planning a medical thing in my native country but postponing the ceremony even further would drive me bonkers.

Thanks!

Settled Status isn't cancelled due to naturalisation - carry your Settled Status validation code with you.
Keep EU Identity Card - not required - and can still be used for travel to/from EU.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
