Deadline for Biometrics

Post by Chris1218 » Thu Dec 03, 2020 12:35 am

Hi all,

Newly registered but have been reading along. This group has helped me through Tier2 Gen application and extension. Now applying for ILR.

Sorry if this has been asked but cannot find anything, did try.

Is there a deadline for me to have my biometrics taken?

For example no later than 30 days from application is submitted?

Or deadline for me to have booked an appointment?

I missed any info about IDV app not being an option anymore so I let some 3-4 weeks pass between submission and upload of docs, and booking my appointment. And as with the demand, my appointment is a further 28 days out, so just wondering if I need to be taking any further action to not miss any deadline.

Thanks very much for any help!

45 working days from date of application that is 2 months.

The deadline will be mentioned on your UKVI account @“further actions page”

IDV is the past. You have to book an appointment now.

Thanks very much Cullinan.
Just to clarify is that 45 days after application that I should have submitted the biometrics or that I should have an appointment, please?

Yes, found out about IDV no longer being in use late and also coincidentally, but glad I spotted it. Just general lack of communication I feel - not even confirmation of application received, though receipt for application did come through. Thanks for confirming.

When did you apply? What is stopping you for booking an appointment? It is 45 working days after date of application. Did you check your UKVI account for the deadline?

You have clearly missed to see the 'Further actions' page on paying the visa fee. Log back to your UKVI account to see your deadline
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

Initially was hoping to do IDV as I am sheltering out of caution. Have quite serious asthma so where I can I would opt to avoid having to show up in person, that’s why I was too focused on IDV.

Saw on reports it took some time for people to receive the invitation - just had no idea it was disabled from use. Thought email was just delayed.

In any case, I did book an in person appointment 3 days ago, was just asking questions as I wanted to know regarding any possible deadline. Thanks for pointing me in right direction! Have checked and my appointment that I booked is 5 days before the deadline on my account. Phew!

Thanks again. :)
