Can I Travel While I Wait?

Post by noush » Fri Sep 19, 2008 9:04 am

Hi all, another dumb question but its worth a try.

I submitted my application to HO in March for ILR under the 14 year rule. I had to supply a copy of my passport cos the original was lost. either never returned by HO or my solicitor who got closed down and lost all my file of papers also lost the passport too. So i could only supply a copy.

Since no-one can tell how long this applicaiton is going to take, am I allowed to obtain a replacement for my lost passport and travel?

As i am writing this the answer is becoming more apparent! haha...but would it be so wrong for me to go abroad. Ok, go ahead. You can laugh now.

P

In purely practical terms, if you apply for a new passport (which it is obviously your right to do), how would you re-enter the United Kingdom?

And once you left the UK your application would be void and treated as abandoned.

Double opps!
