Tax Credits & Child Benefits

Post by jasminecutinha » Sun Sep 21, 2008 10:34 am

Hi Friends,

I would require your advice on the following :)

Firstly, I am in the UK on HSMP 2 years visa, living with my husband and my 2 years daughter: I being the main sponsor of HSMP Visa my husband as a HSMP Partner and my child as a Dependent.

Both my husband and I are working.

Given the situations above, can i claim for the child benefits and tax credits?

How does the scheme for Tax Credit work? Please advice.

Regards,
Jasmine

No - it's only for British Citizens and those with ILR - you do not qualify.

Wanderer, if only it was that simple!

jasminecutinha, can you please post details of your nationality, and that of your spouse. Also, if either of you worked in another country, apart from that of your nationality, before coming to the UK, then please give details.
John
