Family of settled person visa

Post by Mm0095 » Thu Jan 07, 2021 3:08 am

Hi all
My grandfather was born in India on 1930,he went to UK and registered as UK citizen on 1954.
My mother was born in India on 1960,she was granted ROA in 2008.My 2 elder brothers who were born in India on 1980&1981 were also granted ROA in 2012,2014.One of them is in malta and another one in UK.They have been there for 4 years but not applied for citizenship.I was born in India on 1993
Can i apply for family of settled person visa or British citizenship by double descent(on basis of grandfather)

The laws regarding inheritance of British citizenship via mothers changed in 1983. That is why, while your elder siblings could register as British citizens later, you can't.

You also don't qualify for a "family member of a British citizen" visa because you are not the spouse or a minor (under the age of 18) child of a British citizen.
