Naturalisation Application Tips

Post by mesn » Wed Jan 27, 2021 5:57 pm

Hi Awesome people,

Looking for some guidance on the Naturalisation application. I need to apply for myself, my spouse, and 6Y old kid. 2 questions, please:
  • As the applications are decided independently of each other, would it make sense to apply separately? This way, it would be easier to book an early bio appointment [higher chances of getting cancellation slots].
  • Do we get approval eMails for both AN and MN1? Courier service has been a nightmare lately. Without the eMail, there is no other way to know if the applications are processed.

1) You could if you wish but it would be a hassle. 3 accounts. 3 different time/dates for biometrics. Are you willing to take all that hassle?? I would advise to keep ALL in the same account but up to you.

2) You should receive approval emails/post for all.

Big Thanks Cullinan. Super helpful as always. Live next to Croydon. So, don't mind 3 different dates but get your point.

Your main objective is to find an earlier cancellation? Note, even if you apply with 3 different accounts, there is no guarantee you will find earlier cancellations. The chances are slightly more but not certain. You may all end up on the 28th day appointment even with this route.

Also note, most likely if you apply in the same account, you all will be approved on the same date (NOT necessarily but most likely) and then you all will be passing the next steps together.

I guess you have to weigh down your pros and cons for deciding 3 different accounts VS single account.

Actually the tip I would like to give is to apply on a Monday. Note, the 28th day has to be a week day for more availability of appointments plus free options also. Weekend most locations are closed and all appointments are paid.

If you apply on a Monday and look for appointments Tuesday 00:01 GMT onwards up until Saturday 00:01 AM GMT it gives you good time to test your luck.

Lets say you book on coming Tuesday 00:01 AM GMT, you will get one for 1st March.
If you book Saturday 6th Feb, you will get one for 5th March.

You might loose 4 days only during that week but may get lucky to find an earlier appointment.

Applying Friday-Sunday will be a waste (biometrics point of view).

Hope you get the point.

Awesome. Monday application tip is the best. I have seen applicants applying together, getting approvals on different dates and for the kid, its faster without the ceremony but agree on the overhead. Thanks a lot.
