Previous Addresses and ID for a newborn child

Post by RomanySameer » Thu Jan 28, 2021 10:51 am

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for this extremely helpful forum which I benefit a lot from information you post. I have two questions on the citizenship application for my kid.

Background: My child was born on 08/01/2021
I have got my ILR on 12/01/2021
I'm filling MN1 form (Register Child Under 18 as British Citizen)

1. The form asks about previous addresses for the last 5 years. How do I fill this field given that my child was born 3 weeks ago only?

2. In the supporting documentation section of the application, it requires ID document. Does the birth certificate work as ID document or I have to issue a passport from our home country for the child? This requirement is below:
"If Mr. George doesn't have a passport, then you must provide another officially-issued identity document. This could include an official travel document or national identity card."

Thank you,
Romany

That was close. 4 days. Had the baby born on/after 12th would be British by birth. What is the date on your approval letter? Date on BRP? Just double checking.

1) Tick yes and proceed. HO knows child is only 3 weeks old.

2) UK birth certificate is enough. Child does not need any more ID to be registered as BC.

Assuming child is born in UK.

Thank you for the answer .. that's very helpful .. No luck in the birth date unfortunately :) My approval email was sent to me on 12/01 and my ILR BRP issue date is also 12/01 while child was born on 08/01.

Thank you,
Romany
