Hi all,
I am caught in a bit of a panic and distress and thought you guys might be able to help.
We submitted my wife's spouse settlement visa application in India in the beginning of december. We scanned the documents at VFS centre in Mumbai. The document checklist contained a list of mandatory documents in which my (sponsor) passport bio page and ILR BRP was required. I possess an Indian passport with ILR, I had given originals to my wife during her appointment as I was in India that time. But the VFS rep. did not scan it saying this is not required. However, now reading about the documents and how UKVI refuses visa on little things, I am super worried that they would refuse her visa too on the basis that the key document is missing. I contacted the helpline over the phone to ask whether there is any way to send this copy of sponsor passport and ILR to UKVI to which the lady said "No there is way to send any additional document unless you are asked for so keep waiting for an email from UKVI asking for it. In her opinion, sponsors passport and BRP are not crucial or important piece of documents and home office can pull them out quickly should they require it. The key documents are TB test, English language docs, Finance docs and marriage proofs (this closely matches to what the VFS rep. said on the day the appointment). So it is unlikely to get the visa rejected on the basis that UKVI did not receive sponsors passport and ILR copy." This did sound slightly reassuring but again I am not too sure about it now.
We haven't received any email yet asking for any document and it has been 9 weeks since the date of biometrics.
Has anyone come across such situation so far? Would really appreciate if you guys could share your thoughts on this case.
Thank you in advance.
