Question about changing jobs and Indefinate Leave to Remain

Post by GSOtodd » Sat Sep 27, 2008 11:19 am

Hiya

I was issued a work permit in September 2005 that was to last two years. I started work in September but I left in October (October 23). The job didn't work out. However, I found another job in December and after having the new work permit arranged.

Can I still count the time on my old original work permit for my Indefinate Leave to Remain? I was only out of work two months total.

Thanks

Todd

It took me two months to find another job. This was before you had 28 days to find another job (back in 06). Both work permits have the same reference number, starting with DOxxxxx. My second permit is actually a letter stating they have approved permit under IN HOUSE DECISIONS. So, I guess they just switched my work permit over, right?

Hello

Did you apply for leave? Do you have another sticker or ink stamp that was put in to your passport at the same time as the letter was issued?

They sent my employer the confirmation letter saying they approved against the work permit criteria. I already had leave on my visa. This was for six months because for the first six months, I was only temporary but then offered a permanent job at the school, so they applied for an extension until June 2009. I also had to apply for further leave to remain.
