How to obtain a One year Shangen Visa ,

Post by ahmeds » Thu Oct 02, 2008 3:14 pm

Hello, I am planning to visit France next month, and I have booked my visa appointment ,

my appointment is on 17 Oct and I am planning to fly on 24 OCT,

I am a temp UK resident, which is till 2011

Now I have few questions, if someone could help me,

1. How long does French embassy to give the visa
2. Is it possible if they can give me visa same day of appointment
3. Can I take computer print for bank statement or is it necessary to get the statement from bank
4. How can I obtain schengen visa for one year
5. What are the requirement for one year schengen visa

I hope I am not repeating any question I tried to search the forum but couldn’t find the above answer.
My apologies if I am repeating any question(s)

Thanks
Ahmed

Are you a family member of an EEA Citizen?

Have you had a Schengen visa before? If so, what what the length of that/those?

I would be surprised if they gave one year for the first Schengen visa.

Could someone who has applied to the French Consulate reasonably recently, and who is not a family member of an EU Citizen, reply to the queries here.

ahmeds, when my wife just had her Thia passport she applied for Schengen visas on two occasions, but that was back in 2002 and 2003, and things might have changed. Also as she is my "family member" we did not need to supply any financial details. She has been British since 2004, so thankfully Schengen visas are no longer an issue.
