HSMP approved today, thanks for your help guys

Post by niw2 » Fri Oct 03, 2008 11:52 pm

I got my HSMP approval letter today (app received by the Home Office 26 May 2008, approval received by me 4 October 2008).

Thank you all very much for your assistance.

Amusingly, my partner's application was declined. Why is that amusing? Because the caseworker thought her wage slips were photocopied (they werent, they are originals, just printed on black and white letterhead) so he declined her application because they werent stamped and signed! Even more entertaining is that she didnt even need to provide her wage slips because she provided 3 other pieces of evidence (and an exceptional evidence request) to confirm her previous income! So if she hadnt provided any wage slips, her application would have been approved! Anyway, she is applying for EC as my dependent so her HSMP application wasnt needed.

Congratulations on your approval.

Are you applying for EC from New Zealand (Wellington) ? If yes, be prepared for a long long wait.... it took me just more than 2 months to get my EC approved from Wellington.

I've pencilled in first week of Feb to touchdown UK. Only hoping the job market takes a good turn then.

All the best to you and your partner. :)

Thanks, Im going to implore them in a letter to treat our application with some urgency but they didnt sound very obliging over the phone. They say 20 working days is the usual wait so heres hoping.
