Thank you Simon for your post.secret.simon wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:21 pmSimply put, no. The path for British citizens to sponsor any adult non-nuclear family members (i.e. any family members other than spouse or children) over the age of 18 is practically impossible and has a failure rate of 78% after appeals (before appeals, the failure rate is ~94%).
There may have been a route before the end of the Transition Period where you could have moved to another EEA member-state and then sponsored her there (without bringing her to the UK). But now that the UK is completely out of the EU, that route is also gone.
There is, in short, no advantage to her of having a British citizen child.
Thanks Simon. Yes, I can imagine, it will not be easy.secret.simon wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 12:48 pmI should have been more precise. I meant that only spouses and children of the person on ILR or British citizens can be sponsored with any amount of ease (and even with them, you'd need to demonstrate a Minimum Income Requirement, etc).
Other relatives (of any degree of relationship to the British citizen) have a very difficult pathway to family sponsorship.
Thanks vinny. I don't think that any of the topics relate to my situation.
