Switch from T2 to BNO Visa

Hi
I have a question and appreciate if someone can help here.

I am currently under T2 and planning to switch to BNO visa for flexibility and convenient for job seeking though I am only 1.5 years away from fulfilling my 5 years stay in UK.

Q1) do I need to notify my current employer regarding my action of switching visa (From T2 to BNO Visa) since they are the one who paid for the sponsorship. or just notify them at the end once I received my BNO visa?

Q2) Do I need to get my current company involve during the BNO Visa application?
