Advice on WH visa

Post by adamis » Tue Oct 14, 2008 1:40 pm

Dear All,
I am on WH visa and started school as I ve not switch over to student visa. Now the Univ want to give three week off to do this in my country Ghana since it can't be done in country.
One of the course adminstrator says my visa might be blocked if they know I have started since I 'm not using the right status for it .
Please I want somebody to brief me about this whether that I have broken immigration law since my visa is still valid.

Thanks
J

Your visa was valid only under the Working Holiday regulations and not as a Student visa. If you have to show that you have already started your study course, then you may well face problems with your application.
You are unable to switch from WHV to student from within the UK.

The purpose of the working holiday visa is to visit the country, with permission to work for a year. If your circumstances have changed, i.e. you're now studying, you should get the correct visa for it.

And the correct visa will have to be applied for in your home country.
Under the present WHV scheme you can only switch to work permit (if qualified) or innovator visa.
