Existing visa (T2 PBS Dep) for my spouse expires 55 days before her ILR

Post by shar_lavan » Sun Sep 05, 2021 8:45 pm

Evening everyone
I have been working in the UK since 2013 on T2 General visa.
When I got married in 2017, my wife obtained a Tier 2 PBS dependant visa (March 2017 - Feb 2019).

In Summer of 2018, I applied and successfully received my ILR.
The following year, Jan 2019 - we duly applied and obtained an extension to the T2 PBS dependant visa for my spouse prior to the expiry of her visa. The visa was issued Jan 2019, expiring Jan 2022.

Now technically my partner should be eligible for ILR in March 2022, however her current T2 PBS dependant visa expires Jan 2022. We have a shortfall of about 55 days roughly for ILR qualification.

Can anyone please advise what is the best way ahead for us. Should we apply for another T2 PBS dependant extension? I dont think that is possible, as I have changed my original employers (who issued my COS) after my ILR was granted.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Apply before visa expiry for ILR, book the appointment within 28 days of completing the 5 years. No need for an extension
