delay now 9+weeks_currentlyprocessingFebapplications

Post by NZ_engr » Fri Apr 23, 2004 5:35 am

Hi
Just thought I'd share my experience thus far wrt HSMP for the greater good.
HSMP Ref # 163**
Ouf of UK application (New Zealand)
Was delivered on 7 Apr 2004
Payment processed 8 Apr 2004
Tried to ring them to see where my application was at and phone line was always engaged.....so emailed hsmp.workpermits@ind.homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
and got this response same day (22 April 2004):
"I can confirm that we have recieved your application for HSMP your reference number is 0163**. I regret to inform you that due to the number of applications that we are recieving there is a dealy in dealing with applications. We are currently dealing with applications submitted to us during the first week of Febuary. Therefore, it would be at least another 6-7 weeks before your application is allocated to a case worker."

So it looks like it is now taking about 9 weeks for an application to even be assigned to a case worker.
Does anyone know how long it is currently taking for the applications to be processed once they have been assigned to a caseworker?

Also I will no longer be in my country of residence by the time it is processed (I will be in the UK). Does anyone know what I need to do if I am successful with my application as I will not be able to get entry clearance from the british high commission in my country of residence?

Cheers

1. What status will you have in the UK when you do eventually get here?

2. What is your country of residence and/ or nationality?

Hi Kayalami,
1. I will be in the UK on 2 year Working Holiday Maker Visa.
2. I am a New Zealand resident.

I received another email from the HSMP team and it looks like the delay in processing will stuff things up a bit for me! I have been advised to ring to clarify what I should do, given I won't be applying for entry clearance from my country of residence.

Cheers
