Questions about online application form for EEA citizen

Post by manonthemoon » Thu Sep 30, 2021 6:48 pm

Good evening experienced applicants!

I am almost done in the process of compiling the latest online naturalisation form (I'm an Italian, hopefully soon British citizen) and after reading / watching videos on YouTube to look for answers, I resolved to use a bit of your experience to solve some of my questions:

- I have an expired Italian ID card, which I did not add to to the application. However, I saw in social media link removed by moderator that this person is able to add an expired ID card after clicking "No", while I have no option to do so. What's the reason?
- Nowhere through the application form I am asked about CSI and what status I use to qualify (employed, student, etc...). Is that normal? I have EUSS and in the application I said I'm going to use the IRL granted under EUSS to qualify for my application.
- My second referee (the person with a professional standing) is a Primary School Teacher, however nowhere in the form I am asked to provide his school's address and contact details. Do I need to provide these in some way?
- Regarding offences, I have 2 driving offences from almost 9 years ago: one was driving my dad's motorcycle without an MOT (I got just a penalty), the other one was causing an incident due to failing to give way to a pedestrian crossing. For the latter I got a penalty + 8 points taken from my licence + licence suspended for 6 months. This didn't go on my Criminal Records as in Italy driving offences that don't involve manslaughter are administrative matters, not criminal matters, and no Court was involved. What is the best way to report this in the application?
- How do I add a Cover Letter to the online application?

I am happy to provide more info in order to address the points above.

Thank you very much in advance for your help! :)

Are you not using your passport? National ID card is not required.
- Nowhere through the application form I am asked about CSI and what status I use to qualify (employed, student, etc...). Is that normal? I have EUSS and in the application I said I'm going to use the IRL granted under EUSS to qualify for my application.
Not aware there is a specific question on CSI. When you get the list of documents to be provided there may be reference to CSI though.

Look at this link - british-citizenship/uk-citizenship-appl ... 17793.html - it will give you some help on this.

Summarise in a cover letter.
- How do I add a Cover Letter to the online application?
Upload with your other documents.

Thank you for getting back to me very swiftly :) a couple of minor clarifications about your answers if possible.

Are you not using your passport? National ID card is not required.
Yes I'm using my passport, I was just confused about why someone has a flow in which they're asked for an expired ID card and I don't. No probs here.

Not aware there is a specific question on CSI. When you get the list of documents to be provided there may be reference to CSI though.
Perfect, I plan to submit my P60s for that. Do you know whether a P60 per year would be enough? Unfortunately I don't have many payslips (particularly for the first two years of the qualifying period) with me due to multiple house moves and job changes.

Summarise in a cover letter.
Will do. Do you think it's safe to add to the application form under "A penalty for a driving offence, for example disqualification for speeding or no motor insurance -> Something Else"? Or should I go for "Out of Court disposals"?

Upload with your other documents.
Will do. Do you know if I can use the final question "Do you have any other details that you would like to be considered regarding this applicant and their application to be registered as a British Citizen?" for that, or that should be for something else?

Really appreciate your help in answering our (sometimes silly) questions!

If you worked then CSI was not required. For residency just provide a P60 for the five years. Payslips not required.

No experience with this but I would expect that "driving offences" covers it.
Upload with your other documents.

Sounds like it's for something else but you could put "refer to to cover letter".
