Wrong Language certificate

Hello lovely people

I have just submitted all my documents and have been very happy and impressed with how easy the process was, until I realised that CAE is not accepted anymore. I am absolutely horrified they will just refuse my application without giving me the opportunity to submit the correct one.
In your experience - do home office contact people for additional documents, or is it a lost case already?
