psw refused - wait for reply

my PSW visa was refused, and i need to wait for HO reply for my re-sumbit applicaiton, does anyone know
1) how long it takes for reconsidering/appeal?
2)or can you work if your application is under processing?

Have you appealed against the refusal?
Do you have leave in the country?
If whatever visa you have (student I guess) is still valid then you can work up to that end date. If that date has expired and you have not appealed then you can not work. In fact you should not be in the country if that is the case.
If you have appealed even if your visa has expired you will still be able to carry on working until the appeal decision is known.

You can apply as many times as you like until your visa runs out as long as you pay the fees (if any) and there is not an appeal or another application still outstanding.
