Need some advice to understand a scenario

Post by marjanahmed » Wed Jan 05, 2022 1:32 pm

Hi everyone,

My sister has done her B1 level qualification back in 2014. (EMD Entry Level Certificate in ESOL International Entry 3 CEFR B1). She used that qualification to get her indefinite-live in 2016.

Now she wants to apply for citizenship in 2022. However, she is confused about whether she would be able to use the same B1 level qualification she used to get her indefinite-live and apply for British citizenship or she needs to sit in the exam again.

Furthermore, there is some information available on the immigration website itself. https://www.gov.uk/english-language/app ... ificationsWhere it says some exemptions in 2 different circumstances. She just wants to get more clear ideas regarding that.

Therefore, please share your views and advice on her situation. Would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Regards

In the online application you select the option where applicant had to prove English for Settlement/ILR.
As your sister had to satisfy the English requirement for ILR then she can rely on that.
She'll also need the LITUK test.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Thank you very much for your kind reply. yeah, she has done the life in the UK test and I believe the LITUK is a test taken once for all. I will pass on the information to her and I hope her application journey goes smoothly.

Thanks again. Have a great year.

Warm Regards
