Immigration History: How Far Back Are We Supposed To Go

Hi there, I'm applying for the British nationality. I am 18 and am applying alone since my parents do not want to lose the national status of our birth country.

We have left the UK in 2008 due to the refusal of the work permit. We then arrived in the UK in 2009 (High Skill Migrant Visa Tier 1). We then settled in 2014 (ILR).

Should I give the immigration history of the past ten years or from 2009?

Appreciate this might be difficult if there's not enough paperwork. Provide the details you have or remember, estimate date/year. Some of it is "if known" so one shouldn't be too worried about. For peace of mind you could add a covering note explaining where you have gaps or not enough information.

I initially arrived at the UK in 2004 as a dependant child of my father's student visa. After my father's education, his visa transferred to the work permit (SCGS). Then after, he was trying to switch another company, however, his application has been refused in 2008. So we have to leave the country because of the concern of overstay. And then, my dad applied for higher skill Tier 1 Migration and then came back to this country in 2009.

So should I list out the history from 2004 or 2009?

So should I list out the history from 2004 (entire history - 17 years) or 2009?

Also, his forum is very useful; are there any threads you would recommend me to check out for British naturalisation?
