OCI application- Minor's mothers surname doesnt match to her indian passport

Hello,

I am applying for OCI for myself and my son after obtaining the British citizenship and surrendering the Indian passport.

I attended the OCI appointment at VFS belfast and was sent back due to an issue with my wife's name not matching to her Indian passport saying if I don't correct it there are chances of rejection and I am not sure if it will actually help.

Her name is as below documents:

On our OCI application ( Mine and My son's)
Given Name: A
Surname: BC

On my son's birth certificate and canceled Indian passport:
Given Name: A
Surname: BC

On my wife's UK ILR:
Given Name: A
Surname: BC

On my Wife's Indian passport:
Given Name: A B C
Surname : (Blank)

Now If I match her name in our application to be same as what is on her passport then it wont match to my son's birth certificate and his cancelled Indian passport. Then this may become the reason for rejection.

To add some info: My wife tried to correct her passport name to match according to her other document during the renewal(Dec 2017) but VFS belfast office did not agree to match it saying they can not do so without name change process. They said they could put down her surname as "C" but can not put her surname as "BC" without the name change affidavit and other related documents hence she continued the name as it was her initial passport as we had to travel soon.

I have been trying to contact OCI office but unable to get through to anyone to get some suggestion.

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can proceed it will be helpful.
