Child Passport - One of the Parents ILR

Hi

I would like to apply for passport for my new born child.

Father - Indefinite Leave To remain (since September 2015)
Mother - FLR visa (since October 2015)
Child's Date of Birth - September 2020 Born in UK

I think Child is automatically British Citizen as One of the Parents is Settled(Indefinite Leave To Remain)

When I was applying for child's first passport, It asked me if any of the parents is British Citizen. I answered no.
Then it did not ask me if I am holding Indefinite leave to remain or not. Rather it is asking me for Child's Grand parents information.

I am bit confused if Child is Automatic British Citizen or not when one of the parents is ILR?
Do I need to go for Child's Citizenship Registration?

Why the online application form is asking for Grand parents details?

Moreover, it did not ask about Parents ILR details(BRP Card etc).

Hi,

I submitted application for my Baby's passport. Need some advice what documents I need to send.

I will be sending Birth Certificate of the child.

For parents document it says as follows.

Parents’ documents
For 1 of your parents, send 1 of the following:
full birth or adoption certificate
naturalisation or registration certificate
the non-British passport they had when you were born showing indefinite leave
to remain
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Husband is an ILR. He has got BRP card. If he should send his BRP card only or passport(Indian Passport) also needs to be sent.
