British Passport referee's occupation

I've applied for the British Passport and my referee has a company registered under his name and thus acting as a director of the company. However, he works for an employer which is his full-time job. Now when he comes to fill the referee's questions online he has to enter employer details and wondered if he should put down details of the company where he's a director or the employer he does a full-time job at. The reason he's eligible to verify my identity is because he's a company director and this has nothing to do with his full-time job.
Any clarification is much appreciated.
