Hi all, The UK code of practice refers to these countries in the context that there must be no active recruitment of health and social care personnel by UK recruiters from countries on the WHO Health Workforce Support and Safeguard List (Red List countries).
I have come across some experience as my niece's application was rejected with the reasoning of "Active Recruitment". She attempts to reply to the employer with evidence and Gov link that "Active Recruitment" do not apply to her as she didn't apply through any agency or third party.
But the employer solicitor advised the employer not to pursue carers from countries on this "red list" as there is no guarantee that visas would be issued. It could then be a lengthy, time-consuming process with no positive outcome for anyone so I'm afraid our final decision is that we will have to follow government guidance & reject your application."
Do you think think the solicitor is misleading the employer on this issue or applicants from red-listed countries are actually having trouble getting Healthcare visa.
