Hi all, I need to advice in regards to some issues I’m facing whilst trying to compile documents before submitted a parent of a British child application.
Background: I have been in the UK for over 15yrs, came on visit visa but ended up staying. My 8yr old son was born in the UK and obtained British citizenship through his father (we are not together). I am hoping to apply on the basis of my child. As he has always lived with me and sees his dad perhaps 1-2 a year around Christmas usually.
1.Application asks for address details and document proving the address from his father. However as he is not supportive of my application/freedom and happiness, he is refusing to provide. What can I do? Other than perhaps explain this in cover letter? Is this setback likely do impact the outcome of my application?
2.I married someone else but currently separated; as he is estranged and is currently with someone else I understand. Have been unable to divorce due to fact he is almost unreachable, I have limited funds etc. I’m hoping to sort once I have the correct document to enable me to work and pay for it. Do you see this being an issue? Could my application be refused on this basis? Any advice on how to deal with this situation?
3. Not too sure how to respond to this question “What would be the impact on you and your family, including any children, if you had to appeal from outside the UK?”
4. Not sure what to say to this without being repetitive “Do you have any other reasons for wanting to stay in the UK?”
5. Lastly what would you suggest I put in cover letter? How best to structure it?
Many thanks in advance,
