VISIT VISA FOR HUSBAND HELP

Post by Mrsh23 » Sat Mar 19, 2022 2:00 pm

Hi can anyone please guide me in the right direction. I am from UK but my husband is American. I have been living with him in America since 2017. I have a 10year greencard. Back in 2016 my husband was coming to visit me at home but was denied entry to the UK. I am now finally able to go back home, and my husband and our son will be joining me. We want to go asap as my grandad is terminally ill. Americans don’t usually need visas to get into UK but since my husband was denied entry should I apply for one? He got a DWI back in 2011 also. I don’t know where to start with it. Or if I should just risk going without one.
Do I really need to get him one or should we just bring enough evidence with us that we have ties to America? I’m a permanent resident here and it took forever for me to get settled so we don’t plan to move back to the UK ever.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Due to previous refused entry as a non-visa national, he should apply for a visitor visa before travelling as his earlier refusal will be recorded and flag up on entry at UK Border Control.

He will need to submit documented evidence of stronger ties to the US (employment/personal) than he has in the UK.
