Traveling to UK with ILR and less than 6 months passport validity

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the right question for this forum. If not I would appreciate any pointers to the right place to ask this question.

I have ILR and am currently travelling to India and returning in end of April. My (Indian) passport has less than 6 months validity (expires in September). I have generally heard that UK requires travellers to have at least 6 months passport validity when they travel to the UK on a visitor visa. However, I have no idea if this applies to residents like me.

Would someone here be able to help clarify this?

As you rightly said for visas, you are not on visa and should pose no hindrance to your return.
