Naturalisation for - date of application

Apologies if this has been asked before. I’m using the new online form to apply and running into an issue:

- I’m married to a British citizen and have obtained irl 4 years ago
-We are no longer together and I don’t have his address or passport (apart from a copy of the front page) - we split up but aren’t legally separated
- I qualify for both the 5 year route on my own and 3 year route, as a partner of a BC
- When completing the application I believe I have to tick married because we aren’t legally separated and I’m technically still married ( I fear I would be seen as dishonest if I declare separated)
- The form then goes on to ask about his current address which I don’t have and I don’t have supporting documents either
- I can’t seem to choose the 5 year route and at the same time declare that I’m married to a BC, which automatically forces me into a 3 year route, it seems

- How do I resolve this issue?
1.Select married and just use his last known address (with no supporting documents) and then submit a cover letter explaining the situation requesting to be assessed via the 5 year route
2. Or can I select separated and submit a cover letter requesting the 5 year route

Please anyone help with advice?

Option 1 is the one to go with. Provide all details as requested (mark as "last known" or "not known" where necessary - not an issue). Explain in your cover letter. There is no specific box to tick for 3 or 5 years.

Will this be enough without supporting documents including partner’s passport etc? Basically, is the fact that I’m still legally married to a BC valid without them?

Or does it mean i don’t satisfy the 3 year route and should also make sure I have all other documents that prove I qualify with 5 year route on my own?

I meant that you can go for the 5 year route in your own right. You still need to answer all questions as far as possible.
You just need your passport/BRP and the other required documents, not husband's passport or the marriage cert etc.

So basically they can’t refuse my application if I provide everything needed for the 5 year route.

I have our marriage certificate btw and his documents were used to get my IRL so HO could still identify him.

You have a choice then - it's not a rule that you must apply on the 3 year route if you are married to a Brit - myself applied on 5 year rule even though could have gone on 3yr. The end result is the same.

What counts as the date of application when using the online form? Is it the date you pay and submit, or the date of biometrics appointment or something else?
