Character check during HSMP

Hi,

Anyone can advise what kind of checks are involved in character check. I applied for HSMP and they have asked me to wait until we get a character check feedback from the authorities.

your help will be highly appreciated.

that means records of of any sort be it criminal, violations etc that are normally held by govt agencies...ie. police
