Applying Online - When to Pay?

Post by NYCStacey » Sun Nov 09, 2008 2:09 am

Right before applying online, part of the instructions say "Once you have submitted your on-line application you will still be required to provide your original passport, supporting documents and the appropriate fees if you have not paid on-line."
Has anyone gone through this process?
I'm applying online from the US. I'm wondering at which point does payment have to be made? Same day as on-line application, or with physical app and supporting documents by mail? If online, how soon after completing the online app? Just wondering at which point there is no turning back and funds must go out.

Heres the deal: When you have finished answering the questions in the online application form, it prompts you to choose a biometrics appointment time (for submitting your fingerprints and having your photo taken) and asks for your credit card details to make immediate payment. If you dont make payment at that point, you must provide your payment details (ie. credit card info) with your application when you submit it to the BHC. Thats how it works here in New Zealand and I expect it is the same everywhere else, since the same online form is used.

thank you so much! that makes sense...
I got to the point where I have to sign and after that I cannot edit/change anything anymore...
So did you pay immediately on-line?
So you can first choose your biometrics appointment, AND THEN have the option screen to pay. I rather submit the credit card info with my app when being sent with the supporting documents. I guess I'll have to try that.
Thank you for the information.

From the number of questions you are asking in your various threads, you are obviously very anxious about all this :) but thats not such a bad thing, since people who dont take care with their applications find theirs declined because they did something wrong.

To answer your question, I paid for my application online. My partner sent her credit card details with her application.

Correct, you send your documents to the BHC after you have been to your biometrics appointment.

You print your biometrics appointment form and take it to your biometrics appointment. They stamp it when you attend your appointment to show that you have completed the biometrics stage. You then enclose the stamped form with your application when you send it to the BHC.
