I have done this only a few days ago.dtw wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 10:17 amHi,
I have received my BRP card and my double-barreled surname has the hyphen missing (written "X Y" instead of "X-Y"). I reported to the UKVI just in case this is a problem. A few days after I received 3 consecutive emails from Home Office stating that my visa application is successful (the same email I received before my BRP card has arrived). Then I got another email with the title "Your biometric card on its way". However, the FedEx consignment number is the same as the last BRP delivery.
I am a bit confused because I haven't received any email relating to the BRP surname issue and whether my BRP is cancelled/a new BRP is issued. As the courier reference number refers to my old BRP delivery, it shows when my current BRP card has been delivered. I cannot track or check whether my new BRP is indeed out for delivery.
I wonder whether there is someone who had to report incorrect information on BRP. Was the process similar? I appreciate any help.
Thanks

I also received the same decision email and was confused by it. It turns out that I also had received an email from the BRP error team but it was in Junk! Double check in Junk to see if you received it.
The date of the second decision email was the issue date of my replacement BRP.
It took 3 working days from the day I reported the error for BRP error team to reply. What application did you apply for? If it's FLR(M) may I ask what the decision email says or looks like?dtw wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 3:00 pmHi,MrGamgee wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 8:15 amI have done this only a few days ago.dtw wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 10:17 amHi,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I checked the junk, but nothing in there. Today, I called the home office and they said I should ignore the duplicate emails. They said I should receive a response for the error. This actually matches with what you have experienced.
May I ask how long did it take the BRP error team to respond to your issue (since you have reported)?
It's FLR(M). The email states that my visa application is successful, and mentions the duration it's granted for and its conditions. As in the initial email, it states that the BRP card will be sent in 7 days etc. My surname in the email last week was without a hyphen and in the latest ones, it is correctly written. Therefore, I was guessing that they corrected the error in their system.MrGamgee wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 6:42 pmIt took 3 working days from the day I reported the error for BRP error team to reply. Don't worry I'm sure they will respond. I did get a similar email about the BRP delivery as well. That email that you got where the BRP is on the way is for the first BRP. You will probably get another similar email for the second BRP as well like I did.dtw wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 9:13 pmIt's FLR(M). I reported the BRP error a week ago (5 working days today). In the confirmation email, it stated that it may take up to 20 working days which is a bit worrying. Nice to hear that you get a response in 3 working days.
I hope they respond to mine soon.
One last question, did you get a similar email about your BRP delivery? Currently no email from the courier, but I got an email from the home office stating that my BRP is on its way (but the FedEx consignment number is for the last week's delivery).
Thank you for your help
Just as an update, I received 3 BRP cards today! They were all identical (including the issue dates) except each had unique residence permit numbers.MrGamgee wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 9:59 pm

When I received my second decision email (after the BRP error team issued me with a new BRP) I checked online using the right to work/rent service and my erroneous BRP at the time was cancelled and no details showed up. Perhaps you can try doing the same thing and see if the BRP is no longer valid to see if they might of issued a new one?
I do have a question for you just out of interest, did you receive a decision letter via post (I didn't receive one I only received the decision email) and also does your FLR(M) decision email mention anything about registering with the police under Additional Information or under Conditions? (I wouldn't expect it to as mine didn't)
That is such a weird circumstance. Maybe you could try and email the BRP error team instead with all of the details?dtw wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 3:35 pmJust as an update, I received 3 BRP cards today! I called Home Office and unfortunately, the call centre people cannot check which one is valid. But then I figured it out by using the website to check right to work. So I eliminated the invalid ones. Home Office said I can send them back without notifying the BRP team. But I am not really sure whether I should notify them and wait for their response to send back the invalid ones.
https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence- ... rt-problem On this website, the guideline is just to cut and send them back. Considering the fact that they didn't even directly respond to the reported error (except automated visa result emails), I am not sure I can get a response in time. I need to travel in the first week of June. That's why I am considering sending them off soon.
I can imagine my case is not common. But clearly, we should be better informed by the officials so that we don't need to come to a forum to seek help.
MrGamgee, as per your question, I haven't received a decision letter by post this time (this was my extension application). But I received it for the previous one. Note that I applied inside the UK this time. In my letter, there wasn't any such requirement for police registration. But to my knowledge, this requirement varies based on the nationality of the applicant. Hope this helps.
