Question about account balance?

Post by amirowais » Mon Nov 10, 2008 3:07 pm

Dear all, It says that from 31st of Oct 2008 students who file for PSW will need 3 months bank statement showing 800 GBP every month.

My question is: Does this mean I have to keep a min balance of 800 pounds for the 90 days before submitting my application. As I recieve 800 Pounds every month for expenses but I spend from it and then by the end of the month get another 800 pounds. Do you think this is going to be a problem or am I ok?

Thanks for all your help.

Cheers.

Hi,

You must keep £800 in your account for 3 months prior to the application. This means if you go even 1 penny below that amount, it will not count and you must start the 3 month period all over.

Hope that helps.

Thank you Vanadil.

Do you know if my brother who is a British citizen can sponsor me as he has had 3000 pounds and over for the past 2 - 3 years. Can he sponsor me for my maintance funds?

As far as I'm aware no. You must prove that you can support yourself in the UK, not be a dependant so it must be in your name.

I suppose he could just lend you £800 in an account in your name and as long as you didn't touch it and could get 3 months worth of statements that would be fine. *shrug* :? Don't hold me to that but logically I can see no reason as to why that wouldn't count.

I would withdraw the £800 and pay it in cash though and make out it was your savings you had under the matress or something, rather than see your brothers account details paying it in on the staements.

again... I'm not 100% and I don't encourage deceitfulness but
