Passport timings- need urgent help

Dear all,
need some help.
I have applied first british passport(ILR+10 years) for my wife on 6th April, Documents received on 12th April according to royal mail track and trace, based on above we booked an holiday 1st July as it's more than 10 weeks.
HM-Passport office - Bootle.
Current application status- in process from last 3 weeks, according to passport application tracking documents received on 26th April though royal mail tracking says 12th April.
due to time constraints my wife tried to reach out to passport office and they said we only received your documents on 26th April so we calculate 10 weeks from that date. it's a bit shock to us.
I need some help about this, how could I get a correct info about passport arrival, is there anyway I can speed up this. very much frustrated with passport office answer.

There's been threads about this on this forum. Nothing you can do. Even the daily news tells you there's massive delays. Fear the worst and hope for the best.
