Naturalization application guidance

Post by myinfo » Sun Jun 12, 2022 6:05 pm

Hi Immigration board guidance

I want to apply for my naturalization application now and need your guidance.

My all 3 kids have British passports they have got after my husbands ILR because they are born in UK, my husband got British citizenship on 23rd march 2022 but I have got my ILR on 09th August 2021.(I came to this country on 29th June 2016 and got my ILR on 09th August 2021.)

Question is do I need to wait 1 year after ILR to apply Naturalization or I can apply now? because my husband is British now and I am his dependent.

Thankyou

Regards

You don't need to wait - all that is needed is that your husband is a British citizen on the day you apply for your own naturalisation. You are applying in your own right, not as a dependent of your husband, that concept doesn't apply to naturalisation.
