How to request Biometric Card (ILR) and passports back without any impact on your citizenship application

Hi there,

I currently hold ILR and looking to make citizenship application online from UK. My worry is that I might have to travel abroad in two months' time, where as the citizenship application is taking up to 6 months' time to be processed.

Can I request my Biometric Card (ILR) and passport back from UKBA while they are processing my citizenship application, so I could travel abroad for few days without having any impact on my citizenship application ?? If yes, how ??

I will highly appreciate if anyone can answer this query for me.

If you apply online, then Make an application yourself

You do not need to send your documents anywhere. You can either:

• upload copies into the online service
• have them scanned at your UKVCAS appointment
