processing time

Post by april2022 » Fri Jul 01, 2022 4:30 pm

Hi,

I applied for ILR (LR) via standard service in Jan 2022, on 21st Jun, HO emailed me and asked for all scanned copies of passport pages (guess this is the final step?), I'm still waiting for a decision, any idea why it takes so long?

Thanks,

No one can tell you what to expect. This is a query that cannot be answered. Your application is unique and will be decided in its own timeframe. Wait to hear back please

response from HO

Post by april2022 » Fri Jul 15, 2022 3:13 pm

Hi,

My local MP chased HO on my application. on 21st Jun, they requested me to send scanned copies of passport pages with stamps:

"As part of the application process, we routinely conduct enquiries with other government departments and external agencies. The extent and length of time taken to complete these, varies according to the particular circumstance of each application. In some instances, these have to be pursued at length and it is unfortunate when, as in this case, these checks take longer to carry out than usual.

We are currently unable to provide a timescale as to when Mr xxx's application will be concluded."

Any idea what this implies? is it just they're taking more time to check or is it sth negative that may lead to refusal?

Implies they can not give you a time frame of when to expect a decision on your application.

Thanks, is it due to sth negative (didn't meet requirements) or they need to conduct certain checks that take more time? I don't have gaps in visa, total absence around 170 days, no obvious breaches. I'm currently on tier 2

they asked for scanned copies of passport pages on 21st jun, based on the timeline posts, it should be pretty quick from here, right? is this usually the last step?
