Moving to Germany again. Maybe

Post by Wanderer » Wed Nov 12, 2008 11:32 pm

I'm looking at an interesting nibble of a job in Germany (again) and although it's early days, best to think ahead with a foriegn partner....

I'm UK, she Russian, here on student visa hopefully PSW visa soon, fingers crossed, we've lived together Aug 2005 to Nov 2006, she had a year abroad in Germany as part of her uni degree (in German), then we continued to cohabit Nov 2007 to now. That year abraod buggered up our UPV plans despite frequent tooing and froing and hols together. We are both single but unwilling to marry for visa.

What are our options? Would Germany accept her as my EEA extended family member? We'd still prefer not to marry but if we have too....

Any other plans so cunning they could have been devised by Mr Fox, Professor of Cunning at Cunning Foxes University of Cunning Foxes?

Just out of curiosity: What is so horrible about marriage? I married a Russian and never even considered the other options.
Aiming at travelling to the UK with my wife and not with an EEA FP!

Been married before!

To be honest we've been trying to get her valid stay under her merits as much as possible, student visa then work visa, but the more we battle this route the more we feel like just getting it over with and tying the knot.

Exactly the reason why I married my wife who is by the the way Russian too. I figured that if we want to continue to live together and avoid visa et al. problems in future that would be the best route to go.

Wanderer's just worried that once he's married he'll be banned from going down the pub for the Stella's!

And quite right she would be too: Baltika is better!

I like a Baltika too - that 'Nomeri Voshem' I had on the Trans-Siberian nearly killed me.....

Is it the number eight version? Think it was something like 9% - lethal! I've never seen it in UK.

You see Baltika Number three everywhere, Tesco, ASDA. Even had it at the pub in the village but it's off now - noone drank it!
