Registering my child

Post by babymama » Wed Jul 27, 2022 12:18 pm

Hi

I have a query when applying for my child’s MN1 form. I am required to enter ‘Country of Nationality’ but the child was born after I got ILR in the UK and doesn’t have a nationality yet. What do I put in there pls?

What are the nationalities of the child’s parents?

Before the child was born, both parents were Ghanaian but both have British citizenship now.

I think child is automatically Ghanaian by descent.

was the child born in the UK? if yes, then the child is british and you don't need to apply for registeration.
otherwise needs to be registered and yes will gain your original nationality automatically.
