Child Citizenship Referee

Post by dewdrops1420 » Fri Jul 29, 2022 11:50 am

Hi,

One of the referee for British citizenship should be a professional eg: teacher. When I checked with my daughter's teacher, she is telling, she still do not have teacher status, she just has a degree and doing teacher course but not awarded a teacher degree. Can she be the referee? We have only her who knows my daughter.

Thanks,
Malini

She needs to be a verifiable teacher not a degree holder. Registered is the key word for all the professionals, otherwise, how can the HO verify them?
With kids, they're not really fussy (otherwise new born babies would never be able to get passports) . You can use a professional that you know personally and doesn't have anything to do with your kid.

But there is nowhere in application form asking for school name or teacher degree or anything. It's just personal details like date of birth, address, how do you know the child ,passport number, etc.

So you've almost answered your own question. When he/she gets to the occupation part, would he/she lie and say "teacher"?

It's the HO, they can verify almost anything. Everything is linked. Especially when they have your name and DOB. Worst case, you'd be asked to get another and it might delay your application a bit. Not a ground for refusal.

British citizenship application-parental responsibility

Post by dewdrops1420 » Sat Oct 15, 2022 3:50 pm

Hi,

As part of the biometric for British citizenship, we need to submit proof of parental responsibility for our kid.
Could someone please tell me what proof to submit as we are already submitting the birth certificate and the letter of consent.

Thanks in advance

Birth certificate with your name on it is enough.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.
