Employment History - work through multiple agencies

Post by khussain » Wed Aug 03, 2022 5:44 pm

Hi,

My wife is a Pakistani Citizen , she was issued with ILR in Feb 2019 through the spouse visa process.

After delaying for various reasons, we are now in a position to start applying for her naturalisation, which will be on the basis of marriage to a British Citizen (myself).

My main worry is in relation to employment history. In the last 4-5 years she has been doing some day to day shift work as a fragrance/beauty advisor through 3 different recruitment agencies. We can provide details of these 3 agencies and the approximate dates that she first registered with them.

However my worry is that she is currently on the books with all 3 of them and all of them provide her with the occasional shift work, so her current employment is effectively spread over 3 different agencies, e.g. one week she could be working through 'Agency A', the next week she might accept shifts through 'Agency B' if Agency A has nothing going for that week etc., so she has been essentially juggling work between 3 agencies, although one of them is her primary agency which is providing her with the majority of shifts, but she does still get the occasional shift work through the other two agencies as well which she would usually accept if she is free and available to work.

So this leads me to a few questions. Firstly when it comes to the details of employment section on her application, who shall we provide as name of employer ? shall we go with the primary agency that is providing the majority of her work and then perhaps mention in a cover letter/or on additional notes section that she is also currently on the books with two other agencies and provide their details as well ?

Secondly as an agency worker, does she select the option that she is 'an employee' , as I can't seen an option for 'agency worker'?

Thirdly, all of these agencies are providing her with p60s, payslips etc. which show breakdown of earnings, tax etc. , do we need to provide these with the application as supporting documents ?

Finally is it an issue that she is accepting work through 3 separate agencies, i.e. is there anything legally to say this is not allowed and which could therefore have a negative impact on her application ?

Apologise for the long post, but this is the only thing playing on my mind in relation to her application Thanks!

Yes - good approach

Agency workers are employees of the agency - so select "Employee".
Thirdly, all of these agencies are providing her with p60s, payslips etc. which show breakdown of earnings, tax etc. , do we need to provide these with the application as supporting documents ?
No - employment supporting documents not required.
Finally is it an issue that she is accepting work through 3 separate agencies, i.e. is there anything legally to say this is not allowed and which could therefore have a negative impact on her application ?
No issue - you are free to have as many employment contracts as you wish.
