Refree for British passport application

Hi,

I am making an application for a British passport under the ILR category. We have had the ILR for over a year hence the application. I understand that we need to provide 2 referees for this and need some clarity for the following.

Can we have the same set of referees for the main applicant and the spouse ?
Is there a list of "Allowed professionals" who could become a referee eg. Director of a Company ?
Does a referee need to provide a referral letter as well to support the application?

There's no such thing - you are applying for naturalisation of course? apply for passports once you are British.We have had the ILR for over a year hence the application. I understand that we need to provide 2 referees for this and need some clarity for the following.

Can we have the same set of referees for the main applicant and the spouse ? If referees qualify as such, i.e. know spouse.
Is there a list of "Allowed professionals" who could become a referee eg. Director of a Company ? Yes, published by UKVI, page 25/26: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... ionals.pdf
Does a referee need to provide a referral letter as well to support the application? Referees complete a form (to be printed after you submit application), that's all. No written character letter required.

Regarding the question on having the same referees ,I meant can me and my wife be refereed by the same people who qualify as a referee ?

You are not applying for a British passport, you are applying for British citizenship. NOT the same thing.

FYI, You will NOT receive a British passport at the end of the application process you are pursuing!!!

Thanks, I see what you mean. True this application is for citizenship via naturalisation, further to which there is another process and a fee associated for passport.
