Hi all,
I have one question of anyone can help:
My family and I are traveling to Belgium on 22nd October.
My kids and my passports are all British.
My wife's is not but has biometric residence permit which finishes on 22nd December 2022 this year.
Going by the web site FAQ; would this mean she wouldn't be eligible for the visa? as its less the 3 months.
Or will they accept that we have applied and are waiting etc. for a new visa wen we do apply?
Thanks

The BRP is a UK document only - no relevance to Belgium/Schengen.
She does have a valid passport?
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Hi @alterhase58
Passport is valid for another few years.
So it's likely she can still get the Schengen visa?
This is what it says n the TLS Belgium web site:
My British residency permit is expiring soon, can I still apply?
For short stay visa:
You can only apply if you still have a minimum of 3 MONTHS on your British residence permit from the day you leave the Schengen area.
For a short stay, the passport must be valid for 90 days after the planned date of leaving from the Schengen area.
The Embassy of Belgium in London cannot deviate from this legislation.
Thanks

This requirements cuts across all the Schengen member countries, not just Belgium. She most likely wouldn't get the visa issued.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Thanks, that's as much as I expected.
Thanks again.
