Hi,

I checked the Irish Dept of Foreign Affairs website and South Africa is on the list of people who DO NOT require an entry visa to visit Ireland: www.foreignaffairs.gov.ie. Click on link on the left-hand side of page 'Serivces' then onto 'Visa Services' and the list (as well as other travelling information) is in there.

I'd assume that all you would need would be a valid passport with at least 6 months+ left before expiry and a return plane ticket home? If you are just travelling as a visitor, you should have nothing to worry about and I wouldn't think you'd get hassled at passport control as you are just passing thorough for a limited time. They might ask where you are staying so have accomodation information ready (hotel/B&B reservations, staying with friends - Irish address) that sort of thing?

Hope that is enough info for you.

Best of luck, Enjoy your visit.

Regards,
Maria
