British citizenship for Child born before ILR - MN1

Post by sekarcse » Sun Aug 14, 2022 10:31 am

Hi,

I am from India and I got my ILR in Feb 2022 (Tier 2 General route 5 years).

My child was born in the UK in Jan 2021. We haven't applied for Indian Citizenship for her.
My child doesn't hold any passport or BRP now. We have only UK Birth Certificate,

Now We Are applying her for British Citizenship for that we are filling "registration of a child under 18 as a British citizen" form,

In that, I have a question
"Are you able to provide a biometric residence permit (BRP) card with this application?"
1. Yes
2. No
3. No, I have already sent my BRP to the Home Office
4. No, I do not have a BRP for my most recent leave

We are not sure, how to answer this question since she doesn't have a BRP card.

Could anyone help with this?

Thanks,
Sekar

You should answer with the fact - i.e. No.
In this context (irrespective of the application) you may have to pay NHS charges for child if the need arises, until child receives registration certificate. I will defer to other members with more knowledge around NHS requirements.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.
