Hi I have an urgent question which I'd be extremely grateful if anyone can help with.
Me and my partner (who isn't a UK citizen) are applying for the unmarried partner visa from within the UK. She is currently in the UK on a student visa. We have all the evidence and meet the requirements except for one issue on accommodation.
We are currently living with my father who is a council tenant. We have lived at this address for 1 year and our correspondence letters for this 1 year are to this address. However, as part of the accommodation requirements, we need 'permission from the owner' of the property. The council has said that this is fine but
they will not give us written permission or even an email but they have said on the phone that this is ok. There is no issue with overcrowding.
My question is, can we just apply with this, mention that we've spoken to the council on the phone and give the details of the housing officer we spoke with, and say we are looking to move to our own place soon. OR, can we say that we are currently living at this address with my father but in a few weeks/ months time, we will move to another property owned by my friend (and include a letter from my friend, ownership proof etc) or would this be 'prospective' seeing we don't live with my friend right now? In which case, Must we wait until we are actually living with my friend and then apply?
Would be extremely grateful for any help.
