EU residence card...how much longer do we have to wait?

Post by mickhoran » Tue Nov 18, 2008 7:04 pm

Hi everyone,

I am an Irish national married to a non EU national. We have both been living in the UK for the last 2 years and got married last summer and we applied for her EU residence card in the last week of september and until now we got no confirmation about whether they actually recieved our passports and documents or not so we are starting to get a bit worried.

In addition we have no idea how long this process will take and would appreciate it if people that were in similar situations can tell us how long it took them till they got the residence card.

One more thing, with christmas coming up we wanted to go see my family in ireland so would we be able to ask for the them to send us back our passports and documents, travel then send back the passports back to the office or will this affect out application procedure?

any information is very much appreciated :D

They should have sent a certificate of application after receiving her application. See also Processing times and Travelling advice from Home Office while EEA2 is in progress.

Is there a reason why you went down the EEA route and not the standard U.K. route which you were also entitled to sponsor under?

Did you send your documents by recorded/special delivery?
Oh, the drama...!
