Surrender Indian Passport -

Post by javed_alam786 » Wed Aug 24, 2022 10:50 am

Hi All,

I have applied for my British passport and have sent my original naturalisation certificate as required document for the application.

While I am waiting for my British passport, I was wondering if I can surrender my Indian passport. Apparently, I can do this as long as I submit a written declaration stating “My UK passport is under process". I have a scanned copy of my naturalisation certificate, so I can print that and self-attest it.

My question:
Since the original certificate is with HM Passport Office.

Do I have to produce the original certificate when I go for face to face appointment at VFS office ?

Regards,
Javed
